Well, hopefully we’ll get some cattle in soon that we will be back on track and get back in the showring. This is Scooters first big show ‘away from home’ – we had so much fun. He was such a trooper and acted like he’s done it a million times before. Even though the training day before we had a little bit of a “train-wreck” to say the least and it didn’t feel like we were ready at all….. but you can’t win if you don’t try, right? And you got to start somewhere’s…. so who cares if you have a bad show…. if you wait till you are ‘ready’ then chances are that you are so nervous and put yourself and the horse under so much pressure, that things are bound to go down the tubes…. besides, no matter how ready your are…. mistakes happen and you can loose a cow, make a bad cut, choose the wrong cow etc…. so why not just go out and have fun and hope to get better with practice in and out of the showring. Good luck to everyone!
Thursday – what a quiet day
Today is Thursday and probably the quietest day of the week. Poco and Chubby got turned out onto the new big pasture- they are in hog heaven for sure! I wonder if they’ll show up on the gate tomorrow or if we’ll have to go and catch them out in the field. Widget got turned out onto Chubby and Pocos old field – so she thinks she died and went to heaven as well!!! So lots of happy horses around here….
Sue’s Baby Badger – my last clinic with her
Hi there…lots of people have told me I should post a video… I struggled with it for some reason, but hope that it works now! I guess I am just a bit computer iliterate when it comes down to it
. This is the 2007 Pat Wyse Community Clinic. Doesn’t it look like fun? Hope you can join us some time and learn how to DANCE WITH YOUR HORSE!

well…
When we were visiting Al at the Rehab Center, Ted and Kathie Sokol were there amongst other people as well. Of course we were talking horses and stuff and they said that all of JR’s babies have had a lot of cow in them and they are all training well… aren’t we happy to hear that, having a yearling, a weanling and one in the making! Let me know or call Al and/or Debbie directly if you want to breed to JR. He’s not just one hell of a cutting horse, but also got a disposition and temperament to boot! Check him out!
Our youngsters
Of course we not only have older horses we have bought and sold. Or that we still have for sale or that we train, but we also have weanlings and yearlings (and of course their dams) that we are excited about. We were sorry to have come to the decision to put “Crystal” down this Summer, but she was just too sick and no recovery in sight that we thought it best for her.
We are excited however to be able to breed back to Smart Royal Rey for hopefully another foal that is as nice as Crystal was. Chico and Hank are our pride and joy right now and I am excited to think about starting Hank this Spring.
Chico is just a little ham and loves to hang around people….
