Hi there – yup, Widget got a new blanket… she now fits in the AMERICAN FLAG blanket… does look pretty corny, but she loves it… it keeps her nice and cozy and makes her feel like a big horse. Cause it sais 74 on it!!! I didn’t tell her that I got it cheap 10 years ago cause it was mislabeled ha-ha-ha. Anyhow, I need to post a picture….. there goes the flag running around out on the pasture….;-) oh… speaking of new…. Rosie LOVES the new e-cow my Mom made for me… I better not leave her unattended AGAIN otherwise I’d have to put in yet another order ….
what about Corey?
Corey feels left out, not having had his own post! This is Corey. He’s our ‘child’ in his terrible twos for the past 5 years! He travels with us to and from Montana every year. Probably the most travelled bird w/o ever flying
…. Corey LOOOOVES to travel and he usually jumps up and down of joy when he gets to go into his travel crate. He enjoys meeting new people and being the center of attention. So after every Seminar, he usually gets pretty depressed and quiet, and just when he gets used to the quiet routine, new people for the next Seminar pull in…. so his Summer is pretty busy too! Stacy usually let him run ‘free’ on the gravel in front of the bunkhouse and Corey was picking rocks for entertainment….
the extended family
we forgot to introduce our other critters… this isn’t a horse-only sight
. We are down to two cats – Boomer and TG.
But we still have 4 dogs that keep us busy. Everyone has a job on the farm and does it well …. so they think! Kelly, who we call “Boenli” (little bean in english) is our guard dog. She is letting everyone know what is happening on our place and on our neighbors place. NOTHING escapes her eagle eyes or perfect ears…. sometimes we think she’s got selective hearing as she seems to be hearing quite well or seem to lack the ability quite often however she chooses….
then there is Jamie… she’s the quiet one and the happy greeter. She doesn’t go on the rounds with Patrick and the golfcart – she’s our BARNDOG.
The happy ‘wagger’ and just happy to be with us. Both Kelly and Jamie we got from the shelter. Kelly was found in a dumpster and Jamie was picked up as a straying puppy….
Then we have two Border Collies. Rosie who was given to us because she flunked out of serious training due to her heart problem. No one thought her to get as old as she is and she’s till going strong. She has the important job of keeping the horses in their pastures and making sure they are not going through the boards….. She usually helps Patrick feed the horses outside and watches that they don’t make a wrong move.
Skittles is our little black and white…. literally speaking… she thinks she’s the police and has to patrol everyone… I know Kelly has the most tickets of them all…. Skittles is quite bossy towards the other dogs and tries to rule them…. however they usually don’t take her all that serious.
